Episode 3.9 Dungeons & Dragons & Feminism

FUN FACT November is my least favourite month of the year for all kinds of reasons, and by the end of this month I’m usually pretty worn down and exhausted (this year being no exception, as the quality of my vocal production in this episode demonstrates).  But in this episode, instead of telling you how tired I am, I’m going to tell you about something that I use to nourish my weary self and make sure I’m spending time NOT working. And while we’re at it, Kaarina is bringing you extra cozy vibes and reminding you to stay warm! Links!

  1. A friend from my all-women D&D group shared this episode with us, and I immediately freaked because I recognized your voice from Witch, Please! I loved hearing your story, which is so much like my own. I’ve always been extremely nerdy, but D&D felt like something Other for me until I moved to Vancouver as a 30-y-o. It is so fun to get to play in a communal imagination, and I love getting to expand myself by playing as a halfling rogue (she was murdered by a former friend, deliciously tragic) and soon as a lesbian tiefling paladin!

Thanks for making this episode. We need more lady nerds playing Dungeons and Dragons!

  2. Great episode, as always! Thank you for coming into our lives each week with your thoughtfulness, knowledge, and personality. The best part of Friday afternoon for me is listening to Secret Feminist Agenda on my way home from work. Just one thing…I was waiting almost this entire episode for a “Cones of Dunshire” reference! Thanks again for all of the work you put into this podcast. It is appreciated very much!

  3. I love this episode ❤

Let me know if you would like to talk to my feminist self about queer representation in LARPs (at least, the indoor LARP scene that I'm active in). I have been trying to improve that for a long time now!
